John Nelles

John Nelles works in film, television, radio, animation, and stage as an actor, dialect coach and stage fight director. He has also taught some of these same skills at the university level in the US and Canada for over twenty years. Some of John’s credits include working with David Cronenberg, Jonathon Kaplan, Carrol Ballard, Paul Schrader, William Hurt, Sam Neill, Joseph Fiennes, Jude Law, Colm Meaney, Viggo Mortensen, Sir Ian Holm, a series role on Life with Derek. He has served on Equity’s Directors and Choreographers Committee for over ten years, and is in his second term on the ACTRA Toronto Council, as well as serving on the credit union task force. He has taught several classes at Toronto’s member conferences including dialects, acting with weapons and stunt work. John has also helped contribute to ACTRA’s political ventures by lobbying at both the provincial and federal level.
