Jack Layton was brave and fierce, a true leader who lived and worked with hope and optimism.  Jack was a passionate advocate for the labour movement and was unwavering in his belief in the essential nature of the arts in Canada. Jack got it.  Jack’s heartfelt conviction that we can build a better world will continue to inspire and define us as Canadians.

On behalf of the 22,000 members of ACTRA I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Jack’s entire family, including wife Olivia, children, Sarah and Mike, his staff, MPs and friends.
