ACTRA Members Ratify New Terms for Local and Regional Television and Radio Commercial Addendum
Toronto – ACTRA members have voted overwhelmingly to approve the new Terms of Settlement on the Local and Regional Television and Radio Commercial Addendum. The Addendum to the National Commercial Agreement (NCA) concluded by ACTRA and the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) to renew the National Commercial Agreement (NCA), governs commercials made in and played in local and regional markets outside of Toronto and Montreal. The ratification of the Addendum follows the conclusion and ratification of the complete NCA earlier this fall.
Key elements of the Addendum deal include a 2.5% general increase in minimum fees immediately and in July of each year of the agreement, and a provision for preference of audition of ACTRA members residing in the location where the commercial is to be produced.
95.8% of the eligible voting ACTRA members voted ‘Yes’ to the new terms. The new rates, terms and conditions of the 2011-2014 NCA Local and Regional Addendum came into effect on December 16, 2011.
