Toronto, ON (April 18, 2018) — Canadian performers have voted in favour (92.5 per cent) of ratifying the term extension of ACTRA’s TV and Radio Agreements with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for a one-year period to June 30, 2018.

The approved settlement provides an increase in minimum fees in both Agreements of 1.5 per cent. The agreements were ratified on April 16, 2018, and are retroactive to July 1, 2017.

ACTRA’s agreement with the CBC is the union’s oldest and first national collective agreement with a Canadian broadcaster when ACTRA officially became a national federation in 1943.

ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) is the national union of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada. ACTRA represents the interests of over 25,000 members across the country – the foundation of Canada’s highly acclaimed professional performing community.
