(BBH). After nearly 20 years as a signatory the ad agency is attempting to illegally abandon its obligations under the union contract.

Federal Budget Forgets Canada’s Screen Industry, March 20th, 2019 - Toronto, ON — Yesterday’s federal budget announcement was an opportunity to invest further in Canadian recorded media creators, as has been done in recent federal budgets. ACTRA and ACTRA Recording Artists’ Collecting Society (RACS) were pleased to see the $20 million provision over two years for the Canada Music Fund, as well as other arts and culture budget measures, but were disappointed Canada’s screen-based industries were overlooked.

ACTRA’s short film Reel Women Seen launches for public use as advocacy tool, March 4th, 2019 - Toronto, ON — ACTRA production and award-winning short film Reel Women Seen is now publicly available to stream via ACTRA National’s YouTube channel for use as an advocacy tool. The short film brings awareness to the gender inequalities that exist in Canada’s film and television, which coincides with the International Women’s Day 2019 theme of calling for a more gender-balanced world.
