Take a (CAVCO) number!

February 9, 2012

Sometimes ‘take a number’ means LESS hassle, not more. With a CAVCO number, you will no longer have to carry personal documents or provide copies to production. Your number and a basic piece of ID will be all you’ll need, helping to protect your privacy.

What’s CAVCO?
The Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO) is the federal government office that certifies Canadian productions and administers the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC) and the Film or Video Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC) programs.

Why have a CAVCO number?
A CAVCO number is unique ID number assigned to you that you can provide to producers to prove you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. It will save you carrying around your passport and other important documents to set.

Sounds good! How do I do it?
To get a CAVCO number, first register for an GCKey then follow the instructions here to register for your CAVCO number via esubmission.
