ACTRA stands in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA members during their strike against ad agency BBH

Toronto, ON (March 22, 2019) — ACTRA stands in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA as they strike against advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Inc. (BBH). After nearly 20 years as a signatory, the ad agency is attempting to illegally abandon its obligations under the union contract.

“It’s time for Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Inc. to do the right thing and honour the contract,” said ACTRA National President David Sparrow. “We encourage our ACTRA members to support SAG-AFTRA’s union commercial jurisdiction by not accepting any work from BBH and by showing our solidarity on social media.”

SAG-AFTRA called a strike against advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Inc. (BBH) on September 20, 2018 after the union’s National Board unanimously voted to issue the strike authorization. BBH (USA) is not signatory to ACTRA’s National Commercial Agreement (NCA). In support of SAG-AFTRA, on September 24, 2018 ACTRA instructed its 25,000 members to not accept any work from BBH (USA).
