Solidarity has no borders. This is what solidarity looks like as ACTRA hosts a rally outside Amazon headquarters. Thank you to all the unions who joined us to stand up to greedy agencies, studios and streamers.
The voice actor who served as the “VOICE” of Wendy’s for five years joined fellow ACTRA members in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver this week to picket several Wendy’s locations and convince consumers to stop supporting this union busting brand. Wendy’s ad agency, McCann, is one of many who have been greedily locking ACTRA members out of commercial work for 16 months now.
This Friday, the Alliance of Canadian Cinema Television Radio Artists (ACTRA) will hold a solidarity rally in support of striking Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Writers Guild of America (WGA) members.
On Tuesday, August 22, ACTRA, the union representing performers who make commercials, will be demonstrating outside multiple Wendy’s Canada locations across the country to bring public attention to the ongoing labour boycott of union-busting brands. Wendy’s fast-food outlets are one of the major brands using an advertising agency that has locked out ACTRA members for more than 16 months.
On day 486 of the ICA’s shameful lockout of ACTRA performers, SAG-AFTRA L.A. Vice President Michelle Hurd will join ACTRA National President Eleanor Noble and ACTRA Toronto President David Gale in Downtown Toronto for a rally at 10 am ET along with sibling union leaders. Please spread the word. Friends and family are welcome. On Tuesday August 22nd, ACTRA members will hold four information pickets across Canada promoting our boycott of Wendy’s and its union busting ad agency McCann.
