ACTRA represents over 28,000 professional performers across Canada working in the English-language recorded media sector. Our members help bring Canadian stories to life in film, television, digital media and commercial productions.
It has been an honour and an incredible four months so far — taking on the vast responsibility of representing 27,000-plus ACTRA members across Canada. As we continue to navigate our way through ever-changing COVID-19 protocols to keep our industry open, ongoing negotiations of our collective agreements as well as the day-to-day operations of our union, I would like to acknowledge our dedicated staff both at the National and Branch level. It gives me great pride to work alongside them to achieve our common goals. As well, I am inspired by the scope of talent of our membership and what we stand for, and I want the world to know!
ACTRA has negotiated some of the strongest collective agreements for performers in the world covering film, TV, radio, digital media, animation, voice, videogame and commercial production.
ACTRA Performers’ Rights Society (PRS) is the arm of ACTRA that collects and disburses use fees, royalties, residuals and all other forms of compensation or remuneration that performers may be entitled to as a result of their work.
ACTRA stands in solidarity with the Black community
We call for action to end the systemic racism, oppression, violence and discrimination against our Black sisters and brothers that exists here in Canada and around the world. ACTRA is proud to represent Canadian performers and will continue to advocate for equality for our Black performers.
