Your union has been busy on the lobbying front in recent months advocating on behalf of Canadian performers about some of the proposed changes outlined in new broadcasting legislation (Bill C-10) to modernize Canada’s Broadcasting Act.

TORONTO, ON — ACTRA National President David Sparrow and National Executive Director Marie Kelly represented Canadian performers today before the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage to sound the alarm about a proposal in Bill C-10 that could significantly reduce the requirement to use Canadian creativity and talent.
TORONTO, ON — Canadian performers have ratified the terms of settlement reached between ACTRA and Game On Creative, Inc. with respect to the agreement covering performers engaged in video game production in Canada. The new agreement includes a three per cent increase to all rates in each year of the three-year Agreement and is retroactively in effect from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023.
