Mandate (based on By-Law 14.7): The mandate of the committee is to address issues that impact the Indigenous membership across the country, and to build a National community through the sharing of relevant information between branches.

Committee Chair: Marsha Knight

Marsha Knight is Red River Metis/Ojibwe, born, raised, and residing in Treaty One Territory. As a 30 year veteran of film and theatre, she has worked and volunteered in many capacities of the industry. As part of supporting and mentoring, she is an instructor at the University of Winnipeg, teaching a first year Indigenous Theatre Performance course.

Marsha was voted on to the ACTRA Manitoba Council in 2017. In the years since, she established the Indigenous Committee for the Manitoba Branch and is currently co-chair along with Gabriel Daniels. Her Council work continues on a branch level and now includes having initiated ACTRA’s National Indigenous Committee.
