February 2026: AMS Focus Groups
The ACTRA Membership System (AMS) and ACTRAonline databases are being updated and we want to hear from you to help shape these resources to support. Please consider joining one or more of the below focus groups to have your say in how the categories and identity options can best reflect you.
The 90 minute focus groups will take place on the dates listed below at 11:30am PT / 12:30pm MT / 1:30pm CT / 2:30pm ET / 4pm NL.
Thursday, February 12, 2026 – Accent Discrimination Focus Group – Registration ClosedThursday, February 19, 2026 – Performer is/Performer Can Play Focus Group – Registration Closed – Especially looking to hear from performers who identify as mixed, bi-racial, multi-racial, Indigenous, as well as Black and people of colour.- Friday, February 20, 2026 – Black and Textured Hair Focus Group – Register Here – Please note: this focus group is only open for performers who identify as Black.
- Thursday, February 26, 2026 – Sexual Orientation Focus Group – Register Here – Especially looking to hear from performers who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.
- Friday, February 27, 2026 – Measurements Focus Group – Register Here – Especially looking to hear from performers who identify as women, non-binary, gender non-confirming, and trans.
February/March 2026: Indigenous Consultations
During the last round of IPA Negotiations, an agreement was created between ACTRA and the CMPA/AQPM to establish a Committee with the purpose of organizing a Summit between Indigenous Producers and Indigenous Performers.
ACTRA is currently gathering feedback from Indigenous ACTRA members about their experiences working on Indigenous Productions, to help shape the creation of the Summit. Please click the button below to share your thoughts by filling in the 10 minute survey. Deadline: March 31, 2026
February/March 2026: Accessibility Consultations
During the last round of IPA Negotiations, an agreement was created between ACTRA and the CMPA/AQPM to create an “Accessible Sets Committee”, with a mandate to issue industry advisory bulletins and take appropriate steps to make progress on creating accessible sets.
ACTRA is currently gathering feedback from ACTRA members with disabilities about their experiences working on set as it relates to accessibility, to help inform the content of our next Accessible Sets Committee meeting. February/March 2026: Combatting Anti-Black Racism Workshop
In this virtual workshop, you will learn and experience the following:
- How anti-Black racism has appeared in film, both on screen and behind the camera.
- Current representation in directing, casting, producing, acting, and leadership roles, demonstrating progress and highlighting gaps.
- Learn from the lived experiences of Get REAL speakers and industry professionals at different career stages.
- Practical strategies to foster belonging and equity during the three stages of filmmaking (pre-production, production, and post-production).
- Opportunities for you to reflect at multiple points, practice with scenarios and ask questions.
This workshop is free, and open to all ACTRA members.
